From a humble garage start-up to being at the helm of one of the top M/WBE material handling giants, Marcus Duron’s journey with Rocky Duron & Associates (RDA) exemplifies leadership, passion, and resilience. Overseeing a legacy that spans nearly three decades, Marcus has positioned RDA as a national trailblazer, earning accolades like the US Hispanic Business Magazine Top 500 Hispanic-Owned Business award for a decade.

The Foundation and Achievements

RDA’s inception in the cozy quarters of his father’s garage set the stage for Marcus’s entrepreneurial journey. With a penchant for quality and service, under his stewardship, RDA garnered the esteemed Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Company of the Year Award. A feather in the company’s cap, the George W. Bush Presidential Library stands out, not just as a significant project but it is at his alma mater, SMU.

Education and Early Career

A proud alumnus of Southern Methodist University, Marcus earned degrees in Psychology and Communications. He embraced leadership early on, spearheading the College Hispanic Student Organization. New York City beckoned post-graduation, where Marcus ventured into international sales with Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal. His role took him across Europe and Asia, widening his global perspective. The political arena saw Marcus’s commitment when he ran for the New York State Assembly. Despite the campaign outcome, his dedication earned him a Director’s role at the New York Department of Economic Development under Governor George Pataki.

Community Engagement and Passions

Marcus’s commitment extends beyond RDA. Serving on the SMU Alumni Board of Directors and chairing various committees, his dedication to alma mater remains unwavering. Furthermore, his involvement with the Lee Park Arlington Hall Conservancy and the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors underscores his devotion to community and business growth. An accomplished tennis player, Marcus’s love for sports doesn’t end on the court. An avid golfer, he’s teed off at global courses, including Ireland and Pebble Beach. With a zest for travel, Europe often calls.

Personal Life

Hailing from a family of achievers, Marcus celebrates his parents’ legacy — from navigating language barriers to ensuring all their children received a college education. At the heart of his world is his daughter, Sophia, residing in NYC, a testament to his role as a doting father.
