Our story
A journey through time
Rocky Duron & Associates ("RDA") was co-founded by Marciano "Rocky" Duron, along with his son Ruben Duron, on February 1, 1987. The company started out in the back of Rocky's garage, working mainly as the Texas distributor for List Industries, a metal locker manufacturer. In 1989, the company moved into an office/warehouse in Dallas and added more employees. Because Rocky served in the Air Force during the Korean War, RDA was able to earn its Veteran Certification. In the 1990s, RDA also became the top distributor in the country for both List Industries and Hollman, a wood locker manufacturer. Rocky built his legacy on relationships founded on trust, commitment, and constant communication, making sure everyone was satisfied with the quality of work expected from RDA. No customer or project was too big or too small for him, and he was always willing to speak with anyone, regardless of who they were.
In 2002, Rocky retired, yet he continued to represent RDA in many ways within the organization. Today, RDA has become one of the top Division 10 Specialty companies in Texas, and much is owed to Rocky for laying the foundation of excellence over the past five decades. Sadly, on May 16, 2025, Rocky passed away, joining his beloved wife Ruth in heaven. Besides leaving a legacy of five children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, Rocky will be remembered as a man of his word whose handshake meant something to all who crossed his path. We will always appreciate the contributions Rocky Duron made and thank him for all he did to make RDA the company it is today!

Our leadership team
Marcus S. Duron
President and CEO
Marcus S. Duron joined Rocky Duron & Associates ("RDA") in 2001, joining co-founders Marciano "Rocky" Duron (his father) and his brother Ruben Duron. Once Rocky retired in 2002, Ruben and Marcus helped propel RDA into uncharted territory. During the 1980s and 1990s, RDA was mainly focused on new lockers and locker repair, electrostatic painting, and shelving, and they then decided to ramp up RDA by expanding into full Division 10 Specialties. That vision built the foundation that propelled the company into full Division 10 Specialties, and it is still being carried on today. Ruben departed in 2009 after 22 years at RDA to go into the energy business, and Marcus took over as President and CEO. RDA has been recognized among Hispanic Magazine's Top 500 Hispanic-owned companies and named one of the Top 10 Hispanic-owned firms in North Texas by the Dallas Business Journal. In 2013, RDA moved into a standalone building it purchased, and today it employs many project managers, estimators, and operations and administrative personnel.
Prior to joining RDA, Marcus graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor's degree in both Communications and Psychology. At SMU, he was the first mascot in school history, president of the College Hispanic Students, and a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He then lived in New York City for 11 years, where he ran for New York State Assembly to represent the Upper East Side of Manhattan and later worked for the Governor of New York as one of the Directors of Economic Development. Marcus has a daughter, Sophia, who lives in NYC. Today, RDA is one of the top Division 10 Specialty distributors thanks to the efforts of all those who have represented the firm over the past five decades!

An emblem of hard work and visionary thinking, Rocky's journey from laying the first brick to establishing RDA is a testament to his passion for excellence and commitment to customers. His leadership laid the foundation for RDA's remarkable growth and reputation.
Ruben M. Duron
Co-Founder and Former President
Ruben played a key role in RDA's growth, forging strategic partnerships with Division 10 and interior specialty companies, expanding opportunities through BuyBoard and school districts, and strengthening relationships and involvement with minority business organizations. Although he later departed to establish his own energy company, his entrepreneurial vision, leadership, and commitment to growth remain embedded in RDA's DNA.
